Carol at magistramater prompted me to think today about my favorite painting. I don't think I have one favorite, but many that I like.
Winslow Homer has always made me nostalgic. These paintings are my favorites today. I have a hard to choosing only one.

Yes! *This* excites me - it's just what I had in mind with Fine Art Friday. Seeing "Cloud Shadows" gives me an idea for next Friday. And 'Waiting for an Answer" is the perfect title to that painting.
I have a big book of Winslow Homer I'm going to peruse this weekend. I bought it from some remainder bin at a bookstore for $9.99. I vaguely remember that he went to Westpoint (did he get kicked out? or am I confusing him with someone else?)

These paintings are gorgeous! They make me long for summer days as I am sitting rugged up in a cold study which is slowly being warmed by our wood fire. These pictures have made me so much warmer though!
